The Qatar Classic Cars Competition and Exhibition 2020, organized by the Qatar Classic Car Association, in partnership with the United Development Company, kicked off yesterday for 4 consecutive days under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Salah bin Ghanem Al-Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports, in Porto Arabia on The Pearl-Qatar. In the competition and exhibition, a number of classic car enthusiasts own different cars with various models. The opening was attended by Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal Al Thani, businessman Omar Al Fardan, and a number of people interested in this hobby that has its audience and fans in Qatar and abroad. .
In its current edition, the exhibition includes more than 50 luxury classic cars representing different historical categories of various models, including “Rolls-Royce – Renault – Standard – Peugeot – Buick – Cadillac – Ford – Chevrolet – BMW – Mercedes – Jaguar – Studebaker – Mercedes-Benz.” - Fiat - Dodge - Pontiac - Nissan - Daimler - Oldsmobile - Toyota - Ferrari.

Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani said: The objectives of holding this exhibition are many, including introducing classic cars, and encouraging young people to own this type of cars and participate in the events that are held in the country and are interested in them, indicating that holding such events constantly is beneficial for all hobbyists, as they are They meet with each other and exchange experiences, in addition to knowing where to find the auto parts needed by these types of classic and rare cars.
He believes that the joining of his private museum to this is a good step, a harvest of what he has done, and a great progress and achievement that came as a result of continuous work and effort for years, as the museum has now shifted from private to another, as the museum includes 600 different cars, and various models.
He added that he has been interested since ancient times in everything related to Qatari society and heritage, and is keen to collect it, and with the passage of time he began to relate to this hobby, which prompted him to own and reap more tools and everything related to heritage, pointing out that he has a hobby of collecting the largest number of cars that It was present in Qatar, and it carries with it beautiful memories, and the Qataris used it in the past.
He pointed out that he owns a group of cars that were present and used in Qatar, in addition to some types of cars and medium trucks, as they have a history and a great connection in our societies, explaining that his cars dated back to 1985, and their value at that time was 30,000 riyals. Now its prices reach 150 thousand dollars.
